Hydrolats are sometimes called Hydrosols or Flower waters, they are produced during steam distillation of plant material to extract essential oils. Hydrolats have therapeutic properties of their own, are extremly versatile and gentle though they have a powerful action. A hydrolat cannot be replicated by adding essential oils to water.
